cosmonaut day
a totally random post.
i just realized that last thursday, april 12th was "cosmonaut day" a russian celebration of the men and women who braved into space. i love the word cosmonaut much more than astronaut.
my mind went back to a little city in mongolia where i stopped last year, where a statue of the first mongolian cosmonaut (and second asian in space), Jügderdemidiin Gürragchaa was erected.

berlin - shop shop
i want this tea set but i left there at the flea market of boxhagener platz.
muji muji muji. do you believe if i tell you i get emotional in this shop? so much simplicity, so much design, so much thought, so much japan. (it's finally opening in lisbon but i would prefer to fly to japan just to get one of this pens)
modulor shop. this shop has EVERYTHING for me and for your creative mind. material total, so they say and it's true. best of it: they sell online and ship worldwide.

berlin - eat and drink
taiwanese capuccino (someplace near boxhagener platz)
at kaffee mitte. (the black circles are actually devices that light and beep when your food is ready so you can go inside and get it!)
i don't know if you're crazy about ritter sport like me but even if you aren't you would go crazy at this shop in berlin where you can make any kind of ritter sport you can imagine!
even if it's cold, you just wanna sit outside in the sun.
oh sausages, sausages! this is the berlin typical, currywurst. yammi
autumn leaves
the seasons in portugal can be quite boring: it's always summer and suddenly starts raining and get's cold. one thing that always bothered me was that trees are almost always green. so i was pretty excited to see autumn in germany when leaves get beautiful colored in yellow, red and orange. and i was pretty lucky!

the divine comedy
-------
i LOVE neil hannon since the day my brother brought home "a short album about love". at that time he was my musical guru and used to buy all the cd's. at home i would listen and, if i liked it, i would pay for half the cd (very generous of me!). i recall arguing that i wanted to pay for all the divine comedy cd. that was the beginning of a beautiful love.
so earlier this year the divine comedy release a new album "bang goes the knigthood" and it's pretty good. i listened over and over and then i told my boyfriend "you know, i'm disappointed that the divine comedy haven't played in portugal for so long, and i really missed it. shall we find a concert somewhere in a european city we want to go too?", "of course!" he replied (oh, how i adore him!). so we checked the european tour and choose paris - wouldn't it be great to watch a concert in paris. then summer came and we were too busy getting sun tanned and we never bought the tickets. when we realize we should hurry, it was too late, the concert in paris was sold out! damn! so imediately we checked our other options and berlin was so obvious! we bought the tickets and then the flight and then we went to berlin.
this is a video from the concert in berlin. if you follow the you tube link to this user's page you watch the ENTIRE show!
note 1: i don't think the divine comedy are the best band in the world, i just feel that almost every song is right for me.
note 2: shortly after we bought the berlin tickets, the divine comedy announced two concerts in lisbon. :D well, you can't never have too much so i bought new tickets for lisbon too.

iguazu i love you

after 18 hours of travelling on a bus we arrived in puerto iguazu exausted. we quickly recovered our strenght after being so welcomed at hotel los troncos by sofia and daniel. this hotel was made with so much love you can only feel at home when there. it was our little treat for such a special place, like iguazu.
of course, we quickly headed for brazil to see the "first part" of the falls. the iguazu river actually divides 3 countries, argentina, brazil and paraguay. the actual falls are mostly in argentina but you can have an amazing view from the brazilian side.
the next day we walked on the argentinian side, which is much bigger and you can get *really* close to the falls.
i have no doubt these falls are one of the most beautiful places in the world. none of these picture can describe how it feels to be in front of this massive amount of water. it's truly breathtaking. if you've been there you know what i mean, if you haven't i sure hope life takes you there.

the road to north

after the frentic buenos aires we headed north. in argentina we always travelled in buses and i can only say the best things of the argentinian buses. confortable and tottaly reclinable seats, hot meals, movies on board, punctuality and professionalism and the best of all: amazing landscapes out the window.
without making any internal flights we had to leave out a lot (really a lot) of argentina to see, but i really enjoy this slower way of travelling, its seems every kilometer is making us ready for the next stop. the distances in argentina are scary, you can drive for miles and miles in straight roads without seeing a soul (so different from europe). it's the perfect atmosphere to let go and pacify a restless mind like mine...

-------
he - do you wanna travel to chile with me?
me - only if we go to buenos aires first.
* and this was how we planned our trip.
