a minha avó é um espectáculo, é das pessoas que mais admiro, uma verdadeira força da natureza. uma das suas muitas qualidades é um dom de extrair da terra quase o que quiser. cutting a long story short, a minha avó regressou há uns tempos à cidade onde viveu grande parte da sua vida, à sua antiga casa, ao seu antigo pedaço de terra. em poucos meses já tirava nabos, feijão, cenouras, couves e sei lá que mais legumes de um pedacito de terra. as laranjeiras sobreviveram ao semi-abandono dos anos que ela passou fora e agora fornecem regularmente à neta urbana laranjas doces para comer ou fazer sumo.
agricultura é para mim como música. é mágico.
terminei as laranjas que a minha avó me deu hoje ao pequeno-almoço.

my grandmother is amazing, i admire her so much, she's a truly force of nature. one of her many qualities is her gift of taking from the land almost anything she wants.
cutting a long story short, some time ago my grandmother returned to her hometown, to her old house, to her old piece of land. in a couple of months she was eating her own carrots, cabbage, beans and other vegetables! the orange trees survived the years she spent away and now supply the urban grandaughter with sweet oranges...
that's wonderful. what a lovely orange story.
